English Language Arts and Social Studies
- Research the origins of traditionally Historical Black Colleges and Universities (HBCU’s)
- Research and prepare an oral presentation (PowerPoint) of the duties of a college/university president.
- Visit and tour the campus of Claflin University prepare a “before and after” report of Dr. Tisdale’s tenure.
- Read several African American college president biographies to students and ask them to note their accomplishments during their tenure at the school.
- Shadow an African American college/university president.
Math
- Dr. Tisdale has a Master’s and a Ph.D. in mathematics from Dartmouth College. Look up Dartmouth and find out what kinds of preparation you would need in order to major in mathematics.
